Mercy College
About the program
The Mav Friendly Market (also known as the Mav Market), is Mercy College’s food and resource pantry located at our campuses throughout the NYC Metro Region. The Mav Market is an inclusive and confidential environment where Mercy students, faculty, staff, and alumni can get wholesome foods and personal items. We work to help to reduce the struggle of having to balance classes and being able to feed yourself or your family in and out of school. Our pantry offers non-perishable items, fresh produce, frozen meats & breads, toiletries, menstrual products, appliances, and clothing.
The Mav Market offers SNAP application assistance, and can help our community pre-screen for government benefit eligibility. We host nutrition education workshops, distribute meal plan budgeting guides, and strive to promote wellness throughout the Mercy Community. Check out the Campus Resources section below for more information.
Get involved
Students can get involved in a variety of ways-- from in-pantry volunteer work, to translating our marketing materials, to designing social media content to be shared out. Folks can sign up to volunteer by filling out our Mav Market Volunteer Interest Form, where they can indicate how and when they'd like to support the Mav Market. You can also check out our Amazon donation wishlist. Students can also refer friends and classmates to the Mav Market, to help connect folks with the resources they need to succeed at Mercy and beyond. Sharing our information, including our social media, is another fantastic way for students to get involved! Continuing the conversation will spread the word and help fight hunger at Mercy College!
