Get the word out! Here are some techniques that can help promote the donation opportunity to as many students as possible.

  • Flyers

Design posters and flyers to be put up around the most popular places on campus, such as the main campus buildings, student center, TV screens around campus, and tri-folds at the tables in the dining halls and campus cafes.

  • Residential Life

Ask RAs to announce the Swipes Drive at weekly dorm meetings and via email.

  • Campus Newspaper & Media

Ask the school newspaper, TV, radio, and other campus media to share a message about it. If they have in the past, tell them about a new goal or aspect of your program. Offer to be interviewed!

  • Social Media

Post on your own Swipe pages and ask the leaders of likeminded student groups and student government to publicize the drive via social media. And, be a Swipe ambassador on your own Facebook page to expand the community.

  • Campus Campaigns

Create an awareness campaign for your campus or ask Swipe Out Hunger about the national campaigns they are rolling out each year. This is an opportunity to challenge the stigma around college food insecurity, get involved in something bigger than your campus, and simultaneously promote the drive.

  • Swipe Emails

Create an email account for your chapter and build up your contacts list to promote drives and other programs.
