Northwestern University

Swipe Out Hunger NU is proud to be part of Swipes' national movement.

Swipes NU partners with dining services and other on-campus organizations to educate the Northwestern community on food insecurity. We also organize "drives" that allow students to donate dining dollars by swiping their Wildcard at any of the C-stores around campus. This money is then used to help food insecure students on campus and in the greater Evanston community. We host soup kitchens, help the Purple Pantry and Campus Kitchens, and provide educational opportunities for students on campus to learn more about food insecurity. Since its inception, our chapter has raised over $10,000 in donations.

Swipe Out Hunger NU was previously Points for a Purpose. When meal plans replaced meal points with dining dollars in 2017 Points decided to rebrand and officially merge with the national Swipe Out Hunger organization.
