In honor of the leadership and spirit of former Swipe Out Hunger team member Marissa Nachman, the Nachman Justice Award recognizes student leaders involved with Swipe Out Hunger who drive the college anti-hunger movement and embody the values of justice, compassion, equity, accountability, and inclusivity.

In 2022, The Nachman Justice Award was presented to three deserving recipients for their leadership in advancing food security programs on their campuses. Each student was awarded $1,000 for their passion, principles, and action.

This year, Swipe Out Hunger aims to raise $5,000 to again recognize the meaningful impact student leaders are creating on their campuses and on the lives of their fellow students.

“Being part of the Swipe community over the past seven years has meant the world to me. It is a tremendous honor to be the namesake of this award recognizing students on the front lines of the movement to end college student hunger. I have the utmost respect and admiration for the transformative impact these students are catalyzing, and can’t wait to see how they continue to raise the bar in the years to come.”  – Marissa Nachman
