About the program

Throughout the year, University of Rhode Island (URI) students can donate one guest pass per semester online here or by visiting Butterfield Dining Hall or Mainfare Dining Hall.

Are you experiencing food insecurity on campus? Students can request meal passes by filling out an application form here. Once a student’s request is reviewed, they will receive an email notification. The process is easy and confidential. Please also check out our Campus Resources section below for more information on the Rhody Outpost Food Pantry.

Program Roots

Share a Swipe for Hope is a campaign launched by the University of Rhode Island in January 2019 to combat food insecurity on campus. At a time when one in three U.S. college students faces food insecurity, URI students can make an immediate difference by donating one unused guest pass each semester.
