University of California – Riverside
About the program
Throughout the 10th week of each quarter, the UC Riverside Swipe Out Hunger team hosts a drive to allow Higherlanders to donate three meal swipes, which are used to stock the R’Pantry on campus and support the R’Garden and R’Kitchen. At this time, guest swipes cannot be donated and students with an unlimited meal plan cannot donate swipes.
Check out how students at UC Riverside are making lasting change on campus by supporting their peers through R’Pantry. In the 2018 Winter semester, Highlanders donated 992 swipes to their classmates in need!
Are you experiencing food or housing insecurity? Check out our Campus Resources section to see how you can gain access to the food pantry.
Swipe Out Hunger at UC Riverside is currently working on opening a student kitchen on campus that would not only distribute food revived from dining halls, but also be a place to host cooking demonstrations, community dinners, and events on CalFresh. If you are interested in getting involved with the kitchen or Swipe Out Hunger on campus, please contact UC Riverside's Swipe Out Hunger President, Geraldine Quinones at [email protected].
