Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo
Welcome Mustangs!

About the program

The Mustang Meal Share program supports students on campus who are experiencing food insecurity by creating an avenue for students to donate meals from their dining plan. As part of the university’s Basic Needs Initiative, Mustang Meal Share allows any student with a dining plan to donate up to 10 meals per academic quarter by filling out an online form to help ensure that every student has access to nutritious meals so they can stay focused on their studies and success.

Are you experiencing food insecurity on campus? Students who are facing food insecurity can request meals by emailing [email protected] or by phone at (805) 756-2472.  Our Campus Resources section below provides additional contact information for the Dean of Students Office and additional information about available resources can be found here.

Program Roots

Cal Poly SLO launched the Mustang Meal Share Program in 2018 with a mission of alleviating student food insecurity on campus. The program operates in partnership between Campus Dining Services, the Dean of Students Office, and the Swipe Out Hunger student group. In addition to providing marketing support for mustang meal share, the Swipe Out Hunger student group partners with the campus food pantry in a volunteering and fundraising capacity.
