About the program

At the beginning of each school year, students can indicate they want to donate one swipe when signing up for their meal plan. Swipes are then distributed to students facing food insecurity by the Student Affairs Case Managers.

Program Roots

Sacramento State launched a pilot meal swipe donation program in the fall of 2018 through a collaborative effort between Student Affairs CARES Office, University Enterprises, and University Housing.
