About the program

During the weeklong “Hunger Heroes” Drive during the fall, winter, and spring quarters, students can donate $25 worth of a la carte points, cash, or credit card by swiping their cards at registers at various dining facilities on campus. Donated points are then used to stock produce for the campus pantry and fund $40 pre-loaded dining services gift cards for students facing food insecurity on campus.

Are you a student experiencing food insecurity? Check out our Campus Resources section below for information on the Student Care Team in the Dean of Students’ Office.

Program Roots

Swipe Out Hunger and Eastern Washington University established a partnership with a mission of tackling food insecurity on campus and in the community. The campus hosted its first meal swipe drive back in 2014 and since then, over $4,000 has been raised to support local food security initiatives.
