Eastern Oregon University

About the program

In the Fall and Winter terms and once at the beginning of Spring, students with meal plans can donate up to 15 meal swipes per term to their peers facing food insecurity via table drives across campus, dorm-door knocking campaigns, and on the Associated Students of Eastern Oregon University (ASEOU) webpage here. EOU employees also have the option of purchasing meals directly or by using payroll deduction.

In addition to donated swipes from students with meal plans and EOU employees, Sodexo Dining will populate the Swipe Bank with one meal swipe for every mandatory meal plan on campus, which allows for meals to be given as soon as the school year begins.

Are you experiencing food insecurity on campus? Request meals here.

Program Roots

EOU is one of the campuses that is part of the 2021 Sodexo Deployment. Keegan Sanchez, the 2020 - 2021 ASEOU President, reached out to Swipe HQ in Winter of 2020 to learn more about the Swipe Out Hunger program. Sanchez then collaborated with Ronald Wheeler from Sodexo Dining on campus and ASEOU to design, implement, and launch the program on campus.
