Central Lakes College

About the program

Throughout the year, customers, including faculty and staff, can purchase meals for students facing food insecurity. The Student Life Department then distributes meals to the food pantry and Student Life Center student visitors. Academic advisors and coaches can also distribute meals to students.

Are you a student experiencing food insecurity? Reach out to Erich Heppner at [email protected] or stop by C226 to apply and receive meal passes.

Program Roots

Student Life Intern, Cody Caughey came up with the original concept in the summer of 2019. Student Senate members attended a January 2020 Lead MN conference and learned about the Swipe Out Hunger model, then reached out to implement and launch the program at Central Lakes College.
