University of California – Berkeley
Welcome Bears!

About the program

At the end of each fall and spring semesters, students are able to donate their meal points at the dining hall registers. The swipes are then converted into a monetary value for the UC Berkeley Food Pantry to stock up on fresh produce, meat, and healthy nonperishable items for those in need within the UC Berkeley community, including both students and staff.

Are you experiencing food insecurity on campus? Apply for Additional Food Assistance here and check out our Campus Resources section for more information on UC Berkeley’s food pantry.

Program Roots

Swipe Out Hunger at UC Berkeley was founded with the mission to use leftover meal points for good. The group aims to grow its presence on campus to encourage students to donate their meal points and engage with our local food insecure community. This program is in strong partnership with Cal Dining, the UC Berkeley Food Pantry, and ASUC.

Get involved

The Swipes team aims to grow it's presence on campus to encourage students to donate their meal points to support the Grocery Bag program. Want to join the team? Email Audrey Slatkin at audreyslatkin@berkeley.edu.
