The University of Pittsburgh became an affiliate of Swipe Out Hunger in the Spring of 2017, one year after launching a pilot meal donation program. The team's mission is to donate left over dining dollars, and potentially meal swipes, to benefit the Pitt Pantry. Under the leadership of Aderinsola Popoola, Jackie Pines and Sarah Pesi, the group aims to grow its presence on Pitt's campus, encourage students to make donations to support their peers, provide more nutritious food options at the Pitt Pantry and end the stigma around using food assistance.
This program is in strong partnership with University of Pittsburgh Housing and Sodexo.

Great news! Starting April 24, 2017- April 26, 2017, students at Pitt can donate their excess dining dollars! To donate, go to Market to Go and make a purchase. At the register, you will have the option to donate $1. All proceeds will go to the Pitt Pantry.
For this semester, the limit donation is $1 with a purchase. However, if you would like to show even more support, you may make many purchases and donate your purchased items (non perishable food items only) to the Most Wanted Food Items drive hosted right outside of Market to Go. All food items collected will go to the Pitt Pantry. This collection drive will take place April 25, 2017- April 28, 2017 each day from 1-3pm.
Most Wanted Food Items (as requested by the Pitt Pantry)
Other nonperishable Snacks
Thanks for all of the support, good luck with finals, and have a great summer!
