The movement to end college student hunger is growing at a rapid pace. We are proud of the recent strides that have been made in this field, from the passage of legislation in states like California and NY focused on campus hunger to the launch of the new Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice. We also know that the stigma around student hunger is half the battle in making sure resources are available and utilized by students.
We invite you to be our campaign leaders in the endeavor to raise awareness about student hunger, reduce stigma, and promote local food security resources and efforts.
What: @overlookedoncampus, inspired by the @overheard Instagram series, tells the lesser known stories of students on college campuses who are facing food insecurity. We seek to give these stories a platform to challenge the stigma around hunger, as well as promote the available resources on campus. Join the national movement through our instagram campaign, and host your own campaign by requesting our series of campaign posters and custom resource cards.
When: National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week: November 10-18, 2018
Where: On your campus!
How: In this toolkit we’ve assembled all of the resources you’ll need to bring your campus into this national conversation. Thank you for your dedication to ending student hunger.
