Swipe Out Hunger is selected as a recipient of the $10,000 Innovation Award from LinkedIn For Good.
Earlier this year, LinkedIn invited its employees to nominate innovative nonprofit organizations for their foundation to support. Having just moved to San Francisco to begin his career at LinkedIn, our former UCLA chapter leader, Jeremy Reynard, nominated Swipe Out Hunger and collaborated with our national office to present the organization as a candidate. Now living in New York, Jeremy's simple but thoughtful gesture led to this incredible gift from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
We are excited by the impact this award will make and even more inspired that this was made possible because one of our alumni. This grant will go directly towards the establishment of 5 new chapters.
Thank you to Jeremy Reynard and to all of our alumni who show that creating impact can continue beyond graduation. If you're interested in getting involved, fill out this quick form!
I foresee Swipe Out Hunger becoming a prominent student charity at hundreds of schools worldwide. It would provide college campuses the opportunity to become champions of change.” – Jeremy Reynard, UCLA Swipes 2011-2014.
