General Info/Chapter Story – Our chapter was founded in fall of 2014, starting out as a small cardboard box in the hallway of a dorm. During the spring semester, our food drive spread across campus, through a partnership with CSU Housing and Dining Services. In fall 2015, we received the CSU PRAXIS grant, awarding a $1000 to help fund and advertise our program. Now in our third year, we have spread even more across campus, with more donations and volunteers than ever before!
How it Works at Colorado State University- We are currently focusing on our bi-annual food drive. For two to three weeks each semester, we have collection bins in the express stores on campus. Students can use meal swipes to purchase and donate food, which is then taken to the Food Bank of Larimer County. We are currently working to expand our educational component, and hope to have events and programs coming up in the next year.
Upcoming Events – Our fall food drive just wrapped up, collecting over 200 lbs of food! We are looking forward to our upcoming spring drive, with the exact dates to be determined.
Get Involved – We always need volunteers for the food drives, and people with a passion for food insecurity who want to find ways to share their passions and experiences. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more information!
